Isaac George Bunna, known by the stage name ZIK fka Izzik, is a singer-songwriter and producer who hails from Ghana. Born and raised in Lagos for most of his childhood, ZIK got the opportunity to experience diverse cultures which greatly influenced his thinking, lifestyle and ultimately musical tastes and style. His ability to fuse Afrobeat, Alte and Pop makes ZIK one of the most exciting upcoming young acts presently with enormous potential.
Discovering his passion to make music in High school after joining a rap and singing group, Zik has never looked back and has continued to explore and grow his talents by any means possible — he was a member of his church/school choir for 5 years and released his first professional song in 2014 dubbed We Alright. In 2019, he performed at the Chale Wote Street Art Festival held in Accra yearly.
He released debut his 6-track mixtape titled “ZIK” in 2020 which featured credible artists like BryanTheMensah, Kwesisoul, Trap Tyler, OBS’ and Ayane Lahnce. From his early start till now, Zik has constantly evolved as he has grown to master his array of genres he’s known for. It’s not only his sound that has seen development, his online persona has seen a turn as he changed names from “Izzik” to “Zik”.
On a journey to achieving fame and success from music, Zik also brings his audience along on the well titled EP “Odyssey”. The EP is a testament of Zik’s versatile music bag as it’s also a nod to the Greek story of Odysseus. Just like the Greek legend, Zik will come out the victor showing his music prowess.
‘Odyssey’ has 4 songs and clocks in at around 10 minutes, short enough for you to want to replay all day but packed enough to take you on an emotional rollercoaster. From a poetic start to a bouncy end with the last song, SDFTL, Zik is making it known he’s here to stay.
